How to Notify under EPA’s Subpart P on Form 8700-12
(Brookfield, WI – February 21, 2020) PharmEcology Services, WM Sustainability Services
As an increasing number of states adopt EPA’s new hazardous waste pharmaceuticals rule, 40 CFR 266 Subpart P, healthcare facilities will be challenged to determine if they must register with EPA. If they are currently Small Quantity or Large Quantity Generators of hazardous waste, including hazardous waste pharmaceuticals, they must register. If they are currently Very Small Quantity Generators, they may choose to register to take advantage of all the benefits of the new rule. More information on the new rule is available at https://www.epa.gov/hwgenerators/final-rule-management-standards-hazardous-waste-pharmaceuticals-and-amendment-p075. If your facility must register with EPA, or chooses to do so, you will need to complete EPA’s Site Identification Form 8700-12. To assist you with this process, we have provided a step-by-step checklist that walks you through the entire form. Please contact us at info@pharmecology.com if you need additional assistance.
You may access the Checklist HERE.
