Medical clinics typically do not generate large quantities of pharmaceutical waste and can reduce their environmental liability by carefully analyzing the drugs they are stocking and how they are administered. We’ve designed a system that takes into consideration the relatively small amounts of waste generated, the need for secure containment, and the requirement of a simple yet compliant program.

Depending on the number of drugs stocked, the most cost-efficient program may be a subscription to the patented PharmE® Waste Wizard®, our online database which includes disposal information for over 220,000 drug products. Updated weekly with an average of 350 products, the Wizard is the most cost-effective method for creating and maintaining pharmaceutical waste information. If your clinic stocks 100 drugs or less, we recommend this tool which will involve a relatively small start up effort and can keep you current as new drugs are purchased. If you stock a larger number of drugs, or would prefer us to do the initial categorization, we can offer you our PharmE® Inventory Analysis service.

We also offer the unique Waste Management Rx Tracker® program available in most states. This pre-paid mail-back program provides an extremely cost-effective pharmaceutical waste management program for “Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators”, also known as Very Small Quantity Generators, of hazardous waste. We can work with you to determine if your clinic and the waste you are generating are appropriate for this simple solution.
