Covidien's SharpSafety Division manufactures a complete line of containers for the disposal of all pharmaceutical waste, with distinctive containers for hazardous pharmaceutical waste, non-hazardous pharmaceutical waste, trace chemotherapy waste, and biohazardous waste. Because Covidien offers such a complete product line, Pharmecology has worked closely with Covidien to include detailed product-specific container recommendations in all Pharmecology's services.
Covidien's line of containers for the disposal of non-hazardous pharmaceutical waste are blue and white in color to be easily distinguished from sharps, trace chemo, and other disposal containers.
Containers range from 2 gallon to 18 gallon in size and include tamper evident labels. Leak-resistant gasketing and absorbent pads help contain liquid contents. In-room wall enclosures, wire brackets, table top holders, and locking floor carts are available.
Covidien also manufactures a complete line of containers for the disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste, including RCRA hazardous pharmaceutical waste and waste classified as hazardous under our broader criteria of PharmE® Hazardous Waste. These containers are black in color to be easily distinguished from sharps, trace chemo, and other disposal containers. They range from 1.5 quart to 18 gallon in size, meet all EPA labeling requirements, and are DOT Packing Group II rated (other than the 1.5 quart and 5 gallon sizes). Leak-resistant gasketing and absorbent pads help contain liquid contents. In-room wall enclosures, wire brackets, table top holders, and locking floor carts are available.
